(Very) Early Friday morning I headed off to the Pentaho event of the year – The European community meetup. This is an event ran by the Pentaho community for BI Developers and is always well supported by the Pentaho team themselves.
The event this year was based in the stunning Sintra in Portugal. We were hosted by the local guys – Webdetails. The weekend kicked off with some networking at a local bar before the main day started at 8am at a rather unusual destination, high in the misty hills in the middle of a forest!
The day contained over 20 talks, some from Pentaho architects, some from users and some from partners. There were 2 talks which everyone was talking about afterwards and another couple which got notable interest with the mini Q&A sessions at the end.
The weekend finished off in style with a tour of the pleasure gardens, a leisurely lunch and then goodbyes. Many many new connections were made this weekend and there is no doubt the Pentaho community is vastly strengthened by this event.
But hang on; Which talks were the ones on the tip of everyone’s’ tongue? Which gathered the most feedback? What other news was there?
